VR cockpit, first person on the same airfield

The cockpit section of a retired MD-90 airliner on the floor of a hangar at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center in California, March 2024, set aside to build a simulator for the X-66 research aircraft.

Same airfield, first person, still the simulator.

The VR cockpit uses the simulator’s telemetry and the mission list on the development stack. The home point matches the arena, so a craft does not jump when you move from the map to the headset. Its takeoff and return-to-launch buttons are simulator controls for the development stack only.

There is no open-world Africa, no terrain, and no ring of extra drones. A snapshot is a local PNG. The upload route described in older notes is not implemented on this host.
